The high school interscholastic athletics virtual program is available to all students at the high school level – no cuts. The high school virtual athletic season consists of a minimum of three student-athlete and coach engagement sessions per week (corollary sports will meet two times per week), over the course of five weeks. The Spring virtual season is scheduled to occur between December 14, 2020 – January 22, 2021.
Registration will open on Tuesday November 24 and close after Wednesday December 9. Starting on December 10th or 11th, the Spring coaches will reach out to every registered athlete who has a valid physical and send them the access information to join the online sessions. Anyone wishing to register after 12/9 should first email the coach to make sure they are still accepting student athletes for the Spring virtual season. Because the virtual season is only five weeks long, there are no guarantees late additions will be accepted.
We plan on offering the following sports during the Spring virtual season: Varsity & JV Baseball; Varsity & JV Boys Lacrosse; Varsity & JV Girls Lacrosse; Varsity & JV Softball; Allied Softball; Boys Tennis; Girls Tennis; Outdoor Track & Field; Boys Volleyball and Coed Volleyball.
All students participating in the Spring virtual season, as part of the MCPS interscholastic athletics program, must have their parent/guardian complete the online registration process. Registration is done electronically through the Clarksburg Athletics Registration form. Formulario de inscripción en español. Please use Chrome as your browser as this is a Google Form. Students and parents/guardians who have difficulty with registration should contact Athletic Director Ed Dalton at Edward_R_Dalton@mcpsmd.org
Students must have a valid physical on file with Clarksburg HS. Given the unprecedented circumstances, for students who are unable to secure an updated physical, MCPS will extend the expiration date of an existing physicals on file at Clarksburg HS by one calendar year. To the extent a student does not have a physical on file with Clarksburg HS, the student will need to obtain one. Due to the strenuous nature of selected activities, each student is encouraged to consult their physician concerning fitness to participate in the program. During any live engagement, parents/guardians and students must ensure that surroundings are free of obstacles and that an appropriate plan is in place on how to access help in the event of an emergency. We are excited to provide your student with the greatest education-based virtual athletics season during such unprecedented times. We Can, We Will, WE RAISE!
