Game Recap

In a sloppy, wet game against Springbrook, the Clarksburg JV Baseball team’s offense ran wild en route to a 21-5 win.

The Coyotes were able to bat around in both the 1st and 2nd innings. Sophomore Gabriel Gomez went 3-3, drove in 3 runs and scored 4 times. Sophomore Daniel Ward drove in 2 runs and scored three times.

Freshman Phillip Del Sordi reached base safely in all of his first 4 at-bats and scored each time (including his first hit of the season). Freshman Max Bennett had 3 stolen bases on the day and scored 3 runs.

Despite the rain and slick field surfaces, freshman Christian Oven pitched well in his first high-school career start. He struck out 8 Devils batters over 4 innings while allowing only 3 earned runs. Del Sordi finished off Springbrook in the 5th inning while striking out two batters.

The Coyotes next travel to Wootton on Tuesday for their final away game of the season.
